The 2026 CX-5 introduces an updated interpretation of Mazda’s Kodo design language, guided by a new “Wearable Gear” concept. Inspired by functional yet stylish clothing, this approach emphasizes flexibility—equally at home navigating city streets or heading out for weekend adventures.
While the silhouette is instantly recognizable as a CX-5, the proportions have been optimized for both presence and practicality. The body is longer, wider, and rides on an extended wheelbase, giving the crossover a more planted stance and improved interior space. Available 19-inch wheels further reinforce its confident look.
Up front, a wider, more sculpted fascia surrounds the Mazda Signature Wing grille, flanked by sharper, more angular lighting. Subtle design inspiration from traditional Japanese “Kigumi” wood joinery appears in the way the body meets the fender trim, emphasizing craftsmanship through clean, precise lines. At the rear, redesigned taillights visually link the CX-5 to Mazda’s larger crossovers, while bold “MAZDA” lettering replaces the traditional badge for a modern, upscale finish.
A Calmer, More Spacious Cabin
Step inside, and the all-new CX-5 immediately feels more open and thoughtfully designed. Larger door openings make entry and exit easier—especially helpful for families with car seats—while increased rear legroom, knee room, and headroom allow passengers to truly stretch out.
An available panoramic sunroof floods the cabin with natural light, enhancing the sense of space and comfort on long drives. The expanded dimensions also translate to a more usable cargo area, with added length and height plus a lower lift-in height that makes loading bulky items easier than ever.
Mazda’s Japanese craftsmanship is evident throughout the interior. Carefully selected materials and refined finishes create a harmonious, premium environment. New ambient lighting on the front doors, available in seven colors, adds warmth and sophistication without distracting the driver.
